“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows, is God in his holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5
When I was seven, I was introduced to a new family. In just one day, I gained 9 more brothers and sisters. I couldn’t understand why I had to come live with strangers. It was all a new experience for me, a little scary so to speak, but little did I know, I had just been adopted into the family of love.
I went from learning to adjust to a different environment to learning to live with new people. Into Abba’s Arms provided the one thing I’ll forever be grateful for. It gave me a loving family. Into Abba’s Arms means, into the Lord’s arms.
I remember the white sign by the roadside that had a painting of Jesus and the children and Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me,” was written above it. It was always there, a constant reminder that I was in the Lord’s arms. That he was taking care of me. That feeling of love, unconditional love, I wouldn’t have grasped that were it not for IAA.
Even now, all these years later, I can still see the sign in my mind. I am lucky to have a family that loves me, brothers and sisters I can love on, all part of the big family of God. I have been adopted into the family of love.
